Candidates' Weakness
Candidates were unable to:
- determine percentage drop in egg production;
- state the principles of crop rotation;
- name the parts of a rubber tapping process illustrated;
- state the functions of the parts of a rubber tapping process illustrated;
- state an industry that uses latex;
- prepare a Profit and loss account from the information given;
- suggest ways of improving the performance of a farm.
Based on the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended as follow:
- Aspects of the syllabus such as crop production and farm accounts amongst others should be emphasized;
- Only competent graduates of Agricultural Science/Agriculture should be saddled with the responsibility of teaching the subject in Senior Secondary Schools.
