CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES AND SUGGESTED  REMEDIES 
              The candidates were unable to:
 -      name the nutrient elements in the bag of  compound fertilizer
 -      calculate the amount of nutrient element  in the bag of compound fertilizer;
-       mention the functions of phosphorus;
-       identify the layering method of vegetative propagation;
-       outline the steps involved in layering;
-       state the precautions involved in performing layering;
-       name crops that can be propagated by layering;
-       name methods of identification in farm animals;
-       state advantages and disadvantages of methods of identification in farm  animals;
-       convey ideas in correct sentences;
-       poor spelling of agricultural terms.
                  
Based  on the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended as follows:
- Candidates should embark on visits to agricultural farms.
 - There should be intensive self-study and revision before examination.
 - Hands-on practical exposure is advocated.
 - Candidates should be exposed to technical terms used in Agriculture.
 - Improved reading culture among candidates is advocated.
