CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES AND SUGGESTED REMEDIES
The candidates were unable to:
- state the precautions that should be taken when using yam barn;
- state the advantages of a good crop rotation system to the soil;
- give reasons why Table 1 is regarded as a poor crop rotation plan;
- state the disadvantages of using the deep litter house to rear layers;
- spell technical terms correctly.
Based on the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended as follows:
- Candidates should embark on visits to agricultural farms;
- There should be intensive self-study and revision before examination;
- Hands-on practical exposure is advocated;
- Candidates should be exposed to technical terms used in agriculture;
- Candidates should write legibly and concisely.
