Candidates’ weaknesses as reported are summarized as follows:
- a good number of them could not draw the graph in Question 2;
- very few of them were able to make sensible comments on the results in Questions 1 and 2.
(b) Suggested Remedies
It is suggested that to remedy this weakness:
- qualified technical teachers were required to expose the candidates to drawing graphs from set of data. This shall include ability to determine axes; choose scale, plot points and join the points and draw the slope of a graph;
- candidates should be taught how to perform and the know-how of experiments since performance in practical activities demands a knowledge of the basic ideas directing the activities.
