Candidates' Weakness
Candidates’ inaccurate and in some cases “impossible” readings reveal their lack of understanding in the use of the measuring instruments involved in the tasks. The graphs plotted also revealed general inability to choose appropriate scales thereby leading to inaccurate graphs being plotted.
(b) Suggested Remedies
This weakness can be overcome by:
- exposure of candidates to several practical sessions (hands-on in the use of measuring instruments is necessary);
- stakeholders providing functional electrical equipments, tools, instruments and consumables to secondary schools for practical session to ease transfer of formidable psycho-skills before examinations;
- teachers mastering the use of electrical measuring instruments in order to offer effective tutorship to candidates.
