Observation

This question was the least answered by the candidates for this examination probably because most of them were not familiar with the text. The context question from at-Tabaqatul ‘Ulyā (The Upper Class), a drama by Zakariya Oseni gave a conversation excerpt for candidates to identify the speaker, the character addressed by the speaker and the occasion which led to the discussion. The few candidates who chose the question must have been those who actually read the text because they were able to identify the speaker as Finafina, the character addressed as Malam Abdul Azeez and the occasion as the conversation which took place in the house of Finana as regards the kingship of the town. Generally, candidates’ performance was good.
