Candidate's Weakness

 The weaknesses of candidateswere observed in the following areas:

• Commission of grammatical mistakes
• Writing of irrelevancies
• Display of shallow knowledge of the set texts
• Inadvertent violation of rubrics

4.         SUGGESTED REMEDIES:

To address the reported weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended the following:

1. Candidates should beencouraged to thoroughly read and understand the questions before attempting them;
2. Candidates must read the instructions so as to adequately understand the demand of the questions before attempting them;
3. Candidates should endeavour to answer questions in a logical and clear manner;
4. Conscious efforts should be made by candidates to write legibly in Arabic;
5. Candidates should learn and master the correct spellings of the vocabulary;
6. Candidates should procure the prescribed texts for Arabic literature.
