General Comments
The standard of the paper was high and compared favourably with previous years. The questions were straightforward, properly framed and chosen from a wide range of the syllabus. The marking scheme was exhaustive and flexible.
The performance of the candidates was poorer than that of the previous year with a raw mean score of 18 and standard deviation of 10.05 this year compared to a raw mean score of 20 and a standard deviation of 11.18 for the May/June 2012 WASSCE. The total population of candidates that sat for this examination was 1,645,047.
