General comments on the paper as a whole

The standard of the paper compared favorably with those of previous years. The questions were straightforward, clear, unambiguous and within the scope of the syllabus. The marking scheme was exhaustive and clear.

The performance of candidates was better than that of last year with a raw mean score of 31 and standard deviation of 11.18 compared to a raw mean score of 27 and standard deviation of 10.34 for WASSCE for SC, 2018. The total number of candidates that sat the examination was 1,086,449.
