Candidate's Weakness and Remedies

A SUMMARY OF CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

The following weaknesses were observed from the candidates’ response:

- failure to state the role of building Inspector in building construction;
- poor sketching of spirit level;
- failure to state the activities involved in site clearing;
- failure to state the use of site plan and sectional drawing;
- failure to state the function of sleeper wall.

To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be well exposed to:

- the study of  past question papers with their subject teachers to help them understand how to answer questions during their final examinations;
- sketches of tools and labeling by giving them as an assignments on daily bases. In addition the student should be given opportunity to go for industrial training for one month during their long vacation;
- to practical work and also building drawing assignment to be given on weekly bases.
