General Comments

The standard of the paper compared favourably with those of previous years due to the following reasons:

• The floor plan line diagram on which the questions were based, was not complicated but comprised of elements that put the candidates skills of draughtmanship to test.
• The technical information provided in the specifications to guide the candidates in producing the required drawings were concisely and precisely worded to avoid ambiquity. For example the roof type is specified as Gable-end roof with aluminum roofing sheets rather than pitched roof. 

Also, candidates’ performance was better than the previous years.  Many of the candidates scored well above average on the drawing test.
