(a)  Outline Peter’s advice to Christians on how they should relate with one another
(b) Identify two benefits of putting up good behaviour in the society

Observation

This question was less popular among the candidates. In the A part, most candidates answered this question from their own sociological perspective by preaching and giving sermons rather than answering the questions as outlined by Peter.The B partwas better answered by the candidates in that they were able toidentifyways good behaviour can help fostergood interpersonal relationshipsand how it benefits the society at large. In the A part, Candidates were required to state that;


A. PETER’S ADVICE TO CHRISTIANS ON HOW THEY SHOULD RELATE WITH ONE ANOTHER ( I PETER 5: 1-11)

  1. Peter advised the elders of the church to carefully tend the flock of Christ willingly and not by constraint.
  2. He said the elders should care for the members eagerly and not for gain.
  3. They are not to be domineering over those in their care.
  4. Peter continued by saying that the elders should present themselves as matured Christians worthy of emulation.
  5. The elders should copy the good example of Jesus the true shepherd.
  6. Peter said when worthy lives are led, the elders would earn Christ’s crown of glory when he comes the second time.
  7. To the young men, Peter said they should humble themselves by submitting to the elders.
  8. Peter admonished both the young and the elderly to be humble towards one another.
  9. He said God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.
  10. Hence, he said believers should humble themselves under the mighty hand of God so that in due time, He would exalt them.
  11. Peter further admonished Christians to cast all their anxieties on God for He cares for them.
  12. He said everyone should stand firm in the faith and resist the devil, their enemy who is always seeking for a chance to attack.
  13. Finally he said that when Christians go through suffering it will be for a while but their glory in Christ would be eternal.
