Observation

The students were expected to state four safety devices that are used on the circular saw machine. The students could not answer directly rather, they were writing out the general safety devices in workshops and also personal safety device in working on the machine.

The expected response to question 1 is as given below:

• Saw guard;
• Fence ;
• Isolator switch (control gear/switch);
• Riving knife;
• Push stick;
• Crown guard;
• Foot-operated brake pedal.
