Candidates Weakness / Remedies

The candidates were weak in:

• interpreting the drawing of the model of a single panel door;
• cutting the forked tenon;
• cutting tongue and grooved.

To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be taught continuously on how to interprete working drawings, should be provided with special tools such as plough plane, rebate etc. also the need to prepare the materials to the given specifications should be emphasized by their teachers. And finally students should be given opportunity to go for excursion in a large woodwork shops and construction sites.
