Weakness and Remedies

The candidates were weak in:

• cutting through dovetail joint;
• cutting the through haunched  and mortise joint;
• cutting stopped mortise and tennon joint.

To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be taught continuously on how to interprete working drawings, should be provided with special tools such as plaugh planes, rebate etc. also the need to prepare the materials to the given specifications should be emphasized by their teachers. And finally students should be given opportunity to go for excursion in a large woodwork shops and construction sites.
