Candidates:
- did not use appropriate technical terms.
- did not understand the demand of the questions before responding to them.
- could not define the terms allotropy and neutralization
- could not state the observations made by Lord Rutherford in his α-particle scattering experiment.
- could not substitute correctly while calculating some parameters.
- could not draw the structural isomers of organic compounds
- could not give reason why water is referred to as universal solvent.
The following remedies were however suggested:
Candidates should:
- understand the demand of the questions before responding to them
- learn to explain concepts using appropriate technical terms
- improve on their mathematical skills
- read and understand the rubrics of the questions before responding to questions
