(a) Identify five reasons for which it has become increasingly difficult to maintain low rate of accident on Nigeria roads.
(b) Highlight five measures adopted by the Nigeria government to reduce the rate of accident on Nigeria roads.
Observation
This question was not a popular question. Majority of the candidates who attempted it , showered glaringly that they lacked sufficient knowledge of traffic regulations, rules and signs in Nigeria. Additional points candidates should have listed are;
- CAUSES OF ACCIDENT ON NIGERIAN ROADS
- Over speeding.
- Over loading.
- Poor road network.
- Disobedience to traffic regulations.
- Poor weather conditions.
- Poor state/condition of vehicles.
- MEASURES ADOPTED TO CONTROL ACCIDENT RATE IN NIGERIA ROAD
- Provision of good roads.
- Provision and erection of traffic lights.
- Enactment of traffic laws.
- Supporting and funding traffic regulatory agencies e.g. FRSC
- Establishing traffic regulatory agencies e.g. FRSC, VIO, TDO etc.
