(a) (i) Booting is the process of turning / switching on the computer system using the start button in which the required software for the optimal performance of the system are allowed to load into memory.
OR
Booting is a startup sequence that starts the operating system of a computer when it is turned on using the start button.

Booting is the initial set of operations that computer perform when it is switched / tuned on using the start button.
