In this question, candidates were required to

   (b)  State four rules of personal hygiene.
   (c)  Explain any three rules of personal hygiene listed in 1 (b).
   (d)  Define the term sanitization.
   (e)  List two methods of chemical sanitization.
   (f)  Explain the two methods of chemical sanitization listed in 1 (e).
   (g)  State eight rules and regulations that enable the effective running of a salon.

OBSERVATION

Majority of the candidates preformed excellently and the question was widely attempted by the candidates. They were able to write all the underlined keywords in the marking scheme, answers different culinary terms and the question were very well tackled.  However, they were unable to define sanitization, list the types of chemical sanitization and explain the methods chemical sanitization listed,they define sanitization as the cleaning of the environment and gutter once every month and list types of chemical sanitization as dry and wet sanitization, therefore, they lose marks. The excepted answers are:
Sanitization is a process of making equipment, tools, materials and surface clean from dirt and bacterial.
Types of chemical sanitization: Antiseptic, disinfectant and vapour.
