      (c)      State one reason each why  the cosmetologist covered the client with the items labeled M, N, O and P in fig. I and II    above.
      (d)     Mention  six services that can be performed when a client is covered with the items  labeled O and P in Fig. II.
      (e)      Mention  two services that can be performed when the client is covered with the items  labeled M and N in Fig. I.
      (f)      State  nine pre-procedure on how a cosmetologist can achieve the services in Fig I and Fig. II.
      (g)      (i)  What sanitary purpose does the diagrams shown in Fig. I and Fig. II above  serve.
      (ii)  Mention one cosmetologist each that uses the  items labeled M and N in fig. I and O     
      and P in Fig II.
OBSERVATION
      In question 1(a), majority of the  candidates answered the question correctly and they were able to identify the  labelled items M, N, O and P in fig I and II such as: 
                       M – Neck strip 
N –  Cape
O –  Cape
P –  Towel
In  1(b) , the candidates were able to  name  the services that can be carried out when the cosmetologist covered the clients  with the neck strip and  cape, or cape  and towel excellently well which included: 
 - Fig. I- Dry services/  Tonging/Straightening/Blow drying/Comb out/Hair    
                         weaving/Fixing  weave-on/Braiding/Barbering/Hair steaming. 
-  Fig. II – Wet services/Shampooing/Conditioning/Hair relaxing/ Hair 
                               colouring/Permanent waving/Hair drying. 
In 1(c), majority of the candidates performed very well and were able to give reasons why a cosmetologist covered the client with neck strips, cape and towel as follows:
- For client’s comfort;
- Protect client’s cloth from damage/chemicals;
- Protect client from injury;
- Provide competent professional services;
- For sanitary reasons;
- To protect client’s clothes from getting wet.
In 1(d & e), the candidates were able to state the services performed when the client is covered with neck strips and cape or cape and towels correctly such as:
- Shampooing and conditioning;
- Scalp and hair care;
- Hair shaping / cutting(wet);
- Permanent waving;
- Chemical hair relaxing;
- Hair colouring/tinting;
       -     Hair drying;
      -     Comb out;
      -      Hair shaping/cutting (dry);
      -     Barbering.
      In 1(f), majority of the candidates were  able to state the pre-procedure on how a  cosmetologist can achieve wet and dry services on clients  correctly such as:
      -     Welcome the client; 
- Seat client comfortably;
- Select and arrange the required materials and supplies;
- Wash and sanitize hands;
- Ask client to remove all jewelries and glasses;
- Place client’s purse/valuables in a safe place;
- Turn collar inside, making sure that it is straight and will not wrinkle;
- Place neck strip/ towel around the client’s neck;
- Adjust cape over neck strip/ towel;
- Fold neck strip/ towel over cape;
- Remove hair pins and combs from the hair.
In  1(g), majority of the candidates were able to write the sanitary purpose of  covering the client with neck strips, towel such as to prevent the cape from  coming in direct contact with the client’s skin/Ensure client safety. Also,  they were able to mention the cosmetologist that uses neck strip and cape or  cape and towel correctly such as: 
      I.         Barber/Make-up Artist/Hair  stylist/Electrologist.
      II.         Hair stylist/ Hair  dresser/Esthetician/Hair colourist/Shampoo technician.
