CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

The obvious weaknesses of the candidates were in the construction of sentences, punctuation, spelling, use of tenses, and poor presentation of answers. Also, many of the candidates could not takle the questions 4, 5 and 6 properly, due to the fact that these questions required more of applied knowledge.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES TO OVERCOME CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

1. The teachers should be encouraged to devote special attention to research and the teaching of the subject.
2. Relevant books should be made available to schools.
3. Candidates need to familiarise themselves with the proper method of answering questions.
