This question was very popular with the candidates as it was attempted by majority of them. Majority candidates that attempted the question performed fairly well because they knew its requirements. They gave enough points as required by the question to score good marks.
However, some candidates lost substantial marks in the question because they failed to expatiate their points. On the whole, the candidates’ performance in the question was above average. Candidates that scored high marks in this question presented their answers as follows:

(iii) raising the standard of living of the citizens;
(iv) increasing the rate of industrialization etc.
