Generally, candidates were able to provide correct answers for the (a) part of the
question. The (b) part of the question was however not well answered. Candidates
needed to explain any two of the following to score the maximum marks.
(b) Reasons for increased government expenditure:
(i) increase in wages and salaries;
(ii) increase in population size;
(iii) inflation;
(iv) increase in national debt.
