The candidate was expected to write a story to illustrate the saying “Opportunity comes but once’.  The story must show that the candidate understands the saying and it must also illustrate the saying.
Most of those who attempted this question failed to satisfy these requirements.

The passage on friendship was very much within the experience of the candidates and this was probably responsible for the high scores in many candidates’ answers. Performance on this question was generally commendable.
