- Candidates’  Weaknesses
 
                    
                    The weaknesses  observed are the same as those of previous years: 
                    
                      - wrong  spelling;
 
                      - wrong  punctuation;
 
                      - ignorance  of the parts of speech;
 
                      - ungrammatical  expression;
 
                      - indiscriminate  lifting of portions of the set passages as answers.
 
                    
                    
                      - SUGGESTED  REMEDIES
 
                      -  Candidates should learn the basic grammatical  structures of English Language.
 
                      - Candidates  should be taught the techniques of answering questions.
 
                      - Candidates  should inculcate the habit of reading widely with a view to improving their  vocabulary.
 
                      - Students  should take part in debating programmes.
 
                      - Candidates  should practice essay writing regularly.
 
                      - Candidates  should understand the demands of questions before answering them.
