The weaknesses observed are the same as those of previous years:

1. wrong spelling;
2. wrong punctuation;
3. ignorance of the parts of speech;
4. ungrammatical expression;
5. indiscriminate lifting of portions of the set passages as answers.

4. Candidates should inculcate the habit of reading widely with a view to improving their vocabulary.
5. Students should take part in debating programmes.
6. Candidates should practice essay writing regularly.
7. Candidates should understand the demands of questions before answering them.
