TheThe passage was interesting and within the competence of candidates, however, many did not show that they understood the passage. They therefore resorted to copying copiously from the passage to give responses to the questions.
The question on the writer’s attitude – 6e proved difficult for them as just a few got the answer right. It is also surprising that some of the candidates could not identify the figure of speech in question 6f. Also question 6g on grammatical name and grammatical function was poorly attempted by most candidates.
The vocabulary test, Question 6(h) was also poorly attempted by candidates.
