Question 9:
In this question, candidates were required to prepare columnar table showing: Cost, Annual depreciation, Accumulated Depreciation and Net book values for three years with special emphasis on showing all workings and with no requirement for double entry posting.
Observation
Few candidates attempted the question and the performance was not impressive as this was a simple scenario practice question. Candidates were required to present columnar table from the workings using reducing balance basis and it was specifically required not to show double entry postings. Despite these requirements, few candidates still made their postings into ledgers and those that scored high marks interpreted the requirements of the question properly.
