Most of the candidates were very weak in questions 1a,, 2 b and 4. These questions were on the term calorie differences between marasmus and kwashiorkor, sketch on kitchen layout and factors that influence a family budget.
Most candidates that attempted these questions could not define calorie very well; they were unable to differentiate between marasmus and kwashiorkor. They were unable to give factors that influence a family budget because they did not understand the question which was on request for family food budget.
In order to overcome these weaknesses, the candidates should practice more on how to answer questions; they should also learn to understand questions before answering them.
Teachers should teach their candidates on how to start answering questions with focus on main points.
