Candidates' Weakness
The Chief Examiners reported the following as some of the weaknesses of the candidates:
- none adherence to rubrics
- poor tenses;
- writing out of context;
- poor understanding of questions attempted.
SUGGESTED REMEDIES
To remedy the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners suggested that:
- candidates should ensure that they read the general instructions of the paper before attempting the questions.
- candidates should always read and understand questions well before attempting them.
- candidates should endeavour to read simple French stories, magazines and journals and also listen to French programmes so as to improve their communication skills.
