Candidate's Weakness

The Chief Examiners reported the following as some of the weaknesses of the candidates:

1. Wrong tenses;
2. Bad grammar
3. Spelling errors
4. Poor understanding of the questions;
5. Non adherence to rubric on the required length of essay.

Suggested Remedies

To remedy the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners suggested that:

1. Candidates should ensure that they read the general instructions of the paper before attempting the questions.
2. Candidates should endeavour to read simple French stories, magazines and journals and also listen to French programmes so as to improve their communication skills.
