Candidates' Weakness and Suggested Remedies

Most of the candidates could not answer the open ended question in the Listening Cmprehension.
Candidates performed poorly under pronunciation in the Reading Passages. Words like “salaire”, “familles” were pronounced like their English equivalent. Many of the candidates could not realize “gn” correctly in “Gnakourou” and “Kourougna”

SUGGESTED REMEDIES

Teachers of French should endeavor to speak French to their students in and out of class. They should also encourage their students to do likewise in and outside the class.
Teachers should encourage their students to read French aloud in the classroom. Dialogues should be simulated in the classroom to help students develop well their conversation skills. They should also encourage the students to read simple French stories, magazines and journals so as to acquire more vocabulary.
