Candidates' Weaknesses
The Chief Examiner reported the following as some of the weaknesses of the candidates:
     •  poor tenses;
•   bad punctuation;
•   writing out of context;
•   violation of rubric on the required length of essay.
Suggested Remedies
To remedy the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiner suggested that:
•   candidates should ensure that they read the general instructions of the paper before attempting the questions.
•   candidates should endeavour to read simple French stories, magazines and journals and also listen to French programmes so as to improve their communication skills.
