This was a compulsory question that was attempted by almost all the candidates. Many of the
candidates could not score high marks because they failed to measure the dimension of the map
correctly and to carry out the expected map reduction. The candidates were expected to reduce
the outline ABCD to one third of its present size. Those who did not carry out the reduction
correctly could not represent the minor road, built up settlement, River Dewer and a spur. A
good number of the candidates were able to describe the physical feature and measure the
angular bearing thus earning them high marks.
