Weakness/Remedies
|
(1) Inadequate preparation
From the scanty nature of the points raised by many candidates, it
is obvious that such candidates did not fully prepare for the
examination. It is recommended that candidates start reading for
the examinations early enough so that they could cover the
syllabus before the commencement of the examination .
(2) Poor presentation of maps
Many candidates drew poor maps of Nigeria and Africa. Such
maps had no keys and features were wrongly positioned. It is
recommended that candidates put good effort into the practice of
map drawing and representation of geographical features since this
is a regular aspect of testing in the final examinations. (3)Inadequate explanation of points
Some candidates failed to explain the points that were raised for
the questions they attempted. Such candidates merely listed the points. Mere listing does not merit full marks for many Geography
questions. Candidates should put in extra efforts to explain the
points they use in answering questions as this will earn them better
marks.
(4)Poor grammatical expression
Some candidates used incorrect grammar in answering the
questions. Such poor expression made it difficult for examiners to
understand what they really mean.
Candidates are encouraged to improve their grammar through
reading of novels, textbooks, journals, newspapers etc to improve
their power of communication. |
