The question was not popularly answered by the candidates. Those candidates who answered the question performed poorly due to their inability to draw good sketch maps. Many of the candidates who answered the question were able to outline the ways in which African rivers are important and quite a good number of the candidates were also able to highlight some physical factors that limit the use of some rivers in Africa like colouring of the water in rainy season, shallowness of the water which limits navigation, presence of cataracts and waterfalls which impede navigation, presence of water hyacinths on river channels, presence of sandy and mouldy particles in water which makes it unsuitable for drinking.
