The question was very popular with the candidates.  Majority of them presented brilliant answers to the questions.  Almost all the candidates that attempted the question did very well.  Despite the fact that                      some candidates did not explain their points, the overall candidates’ performance in the question was very good.

Some of the weaknesses of UNO identified by candidates included:

• the ideological differences have affected harmony within the Organization;
• constant border clashes/disputes among member nations e.g. India and Pakistan;    
• inability of the United Nations to generate sufficient funds for its operations;
• inability of the Organization to effectively address the issue of poverty among member states;
• inability of the United Nations to curtail the excesses of some members states;
• the veto-power of the five permanent members of the Security Council renders the Organization ineffective;
• inability to own a military High Command to prevent wars etc.
