Observation

The importance of sufficient power supply to the Country.

Candidates were required to write on the importance of sufficient power supply to the country.  In attempting the question, candidates should be able to explain the meaning of power and to mention various sources of power supply.   For instance power generated through the construction of dam, solar, gas, refuse dump, etc.
The importance of power includes the following:

  • economic development
  • provision of sufficient water
  • job creation
  • improving the social life of the people, etc.

Candidates performance on this question was fair.

(b)       Wani dakin karatu da na taba ziyarta.

A library I visited.

This is a narrative essay and the candidates were required to narrate their experience on a library they visited.  In their narration, they were expected to capture the meaning of a library, where the library was situated, how the library looks like i.e. the size of it, the books, table and chair arrangements, the different sections of the library, the security, the atmosphere of the library etc.
 
Many candidates attempted the question and their performance was encouraging.

(c)        Illolin wayar salula sun fi muhimmancinta yawa.  Mene ne ra’ayinka?.

The blemishes of mobile phone is more than it’s importance.  What is your own opinion?

Above is an argumentative essay, it sought  the opinion of candidates on the blemishes and the importance of mobile phone.  In attempting the question, candidates were expected to explain what a mobile phone is before justifying their stand.          

Many candidates attempted this question and their performance was encouraging.
               

(d)       Rubuta wasiƙa zuwa ga mahaifinka ka bayyana masa yadda ‘yan damfara suka zambace ka.
           
Write a letter to your father telling him how you were duped by fraudulent people.
Candidates were expected to write a semi formal letter using the following format:
-           address of the writer
            -           salutation
             -           content
              -          conclusion
The content of the letter may include the meeting point with the fraudulent people, the nature of the fraud and the happenings after the incidence.

Few candidates attempted the question and their performance was fair.
(e)       Albarkacin kaza kadangare kan sha ruwan kasko
Like begets like.
The statement above is a proverb.  It requires the candidates to give its meaning, narrate a story that will end with the proverb and further identify other proverbs of its equivalent.
e.g.                  -           Da rabon wani, wani kan samu
-           Guga na cin albarkacin igiya
-           Saboda karen gidanka ka kan ga karen wani
Few candidates attempted the question and their performance was poor.

Many candidates attempted the question and their performance was encouragi~g.

(c)  Rubuta wasi ka zuwa ga kawunka, kajajanta masa a kan gobara da ta same shi.
Write a letter to your uncle condoling him on the fire incident that affected his house.
Candidates were required to write a semi-formal letter using the following format:
Address of the writer
Salutation
Content
Conclusion
The content of the letter may include suggesting ways of averting a reoccurrence of the incident
and expression of sympathy on the loss incurred.
Many candidates attempted the question and their performance was poor.
           (d)         A ra 'ayinka, wane yafi illa tsakanin magudln jarrabawa da na za6e?
In your opinion, which one has more adverse effect, Examination malpractice or Election
rigging?

Above is an argumentative essay, it expected candidates to discuss the harmful effects of
Examination malpractice vis-a-vis the evil effect of election rigging on the society.
Many candidates attempted the question and their performance was encouraging.
(e)          Komai nisan dare, gari zai waye

The statement above is a proverb. It requires the candidates to give it's meaning, narrate a story that will end with that proverb and further identify other similar proverbs.
e.g. - Kame nisan jifa, Kasa zai fado Sannu ba ta hana zuwa
Mai hakuri shi ke dafa dutse har ya sha romans a, d.s.
