Some candidates wrote the laundry process for daily care of clothes instead of guidelines for daily care of clothes.
The question on uses of water for laundry was not very well answered by some candidates. They wrote things like using water for cooking and bathing.

3.(a) GUIDELINES FOR DAILY CARE OF CLOTHES
- Provide good storage space/facility for clothes
- Do not store dirty clothes with clean ones
- Hang all garments up/store garments appropriately after wear
- Close all fastenings e.g zippers
- Leave the clothes to air before putting them away
- Remove spots and stains as soon as possible
- Follow instructions on care label
- Use good quality hangers
- Remove all brooches or pins before putting the garment away
- Wash underwear regularly
- Try not to wear the same dress or clothes on consecutive days so that the fibres can regain their original shape
- Do not store clothes that are damp or in a damp place
- Clothes should be ironed when creased or wrinkled
- Water is used for soaking clothes and household articles before washing
- Water alone can be used to clean articles with loose dirt to a certain extent
- Hot water is used to melt grease and soften greasy dirt
- Water is used for rinsing to remove all soap lather and dirt from washed articles
- Water is used to dampen articles when ironing to remove crease or wrinkles from he fabrics
- Water is used with other cleaning agents to wash articles
- Water is used in the preparation of starch
