Candidate's Weakness
Candidates’ weaknesses were observed as follows:
(1) poor knowledge of correct spellings;
(2) error in writing address with both English and Igbo language;
(3) illegible handwriting.
Suggested Remedies
- Government should organize seminars for Igbo teachers from time to time to enable them acquire more knowledge in the subject.
- Government should organize seminars for Igbo teachers from time to time to enable them acquire more knowledge in the subject  area.
- Teachers should study the recommended literature texts with the candidates to enable them prepare well for the examination.
- The schools libraries should be equipped with relevant Igbo grammar and literature books.
- Teachers should encourage the students to converse in Igbo.
- Candidates should develop the attitude of reading novels and engaging in continuous writing to improve their writing skill and also avoid spelling errors.
- Teachers should endeavour to cover the current WAEC syllabus before the commencement of the examination.
