This question which was on Hadith tested an important aspect of science of Hadith which has been neglected by both teachers and students of Islamic studies.   This became evident by the number of candidates who went for the question.  Even for a few that answered the question, they dwelt  on irrelevancies rather than points relating to authenticity of Hadith in terms of Isnad and Matn.  Apart from the fact that this technical term was given birth to by the science of Hadith, it later became popular in other sciences such as fiqh, lexicography and history.  Candidates’ performance here was poor.
