Very few out of the candidates who attempted this question got it right as the majority of them mistook compilation for standardization. As for the few who got it right, they wrote comprehensively on it. However, they still missed out some points such as the revelation of the Qur’ān came in three modes as recorded in Q.42:51; the three modes are Waḥy (inspiration), Ru’yā (dream) and through an angel (Malak) and that the Qur’ān was revealed from the Preserved Tablet (Lawḥul-Mahfūz).  Candidates’ performance was thus impressive.
