Observation

The question requested the candidates to write the text of the Hadith either in Arabic or in transliteration. They were also expected to translate it into English and comment on it. The candidates who chose this question, from their responses, knew the theme of the Hadith which centres on sincerity in Islam but few were unable to point out its lessons. Expectedly, the relevant points include the fact that Islam is all about admonition, counsel and consciousness of Allah (Taqwā) and respect for the opinion of the ‘Ulamā’ when necessary. The question appeared simple for most of the candidates that attempted it while a few of them did not get it right.  Despite that the general performance was still good.
