This was one of the popular straight forward questions among the candidates and it was a compulsory question also. Most of the candidates performed well as expected while few performed below average .Despite that, the general performance was still good.
The question required the candidates to highlight six benefits of Sunnah to the Muslim Ummah, they are to define hadith and placed it as secondary source of Sharíah thus:

Hadith and Sunnah are interchangeably used to imply sayings (Qawli), deeds (Fi‘l) and tacit approvals (Taqrir) of the Prophet (S.A.W.) (Introduction).

3. Thus Sunnah facilitates a practical demonstration of Islam (i.e. teaching).
4. It gives detailed information on some injunctions of the Qur’ān.
5. The Sunnah speaks where the Qur’ān is silent in giving details.
6. The Sunnah assists the Qur’ān Exegists.
7. The Sunnah gives details about devotional acts: Ṣalāt, Zakāt, Ṣawm and Ḥajj.
8. Through Sunnah, Muslims learn how to make call to prayer (Adhān).
9. It gives biographical information about the Prophet (S.A.W.), his wives and companions.
10. The study of Hadith immortalizes the Prophet (S.A.W.).
11. It is one of the two legacies left behind by the Prophet (S.A.W.) for the guidance of humanity.
12. It also simplifies the understanding of Islam as a religion.
13. The Sunnah is a field of study and thus contributes to knowledge.
14. Emulating the Sunnah attracts rewards.
15. Through Sunnah, Muslims learn about the Day of Judgment.
16. It teaches the conducts of the Prophet (S.A.W.) which are always in accordance with the Qur’ān.
17. It derives its inspiration from the Qur’ān.
18. Hadith contains guiding principles for a successful and virtous life.
19. The Sunnah highlights practical demonstration of Islam.
