Candidates were expected to discuss the following points.
- Papa Nnukwu is a symbol of tradition in the novel.
through him we see the traditional religion in practice.
- He refuses to be lured by flashy gifts to change his principles. His rejection of a bigger house and car from his son as a bribe to dump his traditional religion shows that he is principled.
- Papa Nnukwu knows his right, he insists that his grandchildren must visit him, a request that Eugene grants grudgingly.
- Papa Nnukwu is a humorist, a good entertainer to his grandchildren.
- He is not fanatical about his own religion and he prays for everybody including his enemies.
Candidates’ performance was good.
