A good number of candidates attempted this question. Only few candidates showed they understood the question from their answers.
The use of visual images in the poem includes:
- Reference to the elements of nature; daffodils, waves, cloud, all of which impress the poet’s eye.
- The description of their activities: the lonely cloud, the fluttering and dancing of daffodils in the breeze.
- The poet’s ability to conjure up the memory as well as relieve the scene has a therapeutic effect which is the ‘bliss of nature’.
Candidates’ performance was fair.
