Weakness and Remedies
Some of the weaknesses observed in the candidates’ scripts were:
- Most candidates did not attempt question on application. Where they did, their performance was not good.
- Most candidates could not state reasons for marketing research and illustrate channel of distribution for consumer goods.
- Some candidates misinterpreted questions and commands. They found it difficult to distinguish between “State” and “List”.
SUGGESTED REMEDIES
- O’ level marketing text books should be made available to candidates preparing for the examination.
- Candidates should study standard text books on salesmanship, Marketing and others as recommended in preparing for the examination.
- Teacher should expose students to the expectations of different question commands. Ie “State” and “List”.
- Teachers should teach students how to answer applied questions.
