Observation

Candidates’ overall performance was a little above average. They were expected to listen to a rhythmic dictation and then notate the rhythm on a monotone. Some of the candidates performed excellently well in this question but some were unable to notate the rhythm as required. They were writing in solfa notation . This caused them to lose a substantial part of the marks. They should have responded to the question in the following manner:
