Observation
This question is  on spray painting. Some candidates did very well while others answered the  question out of point. The candidates were expected to provide the following  answers in order to score good marks.
            
(a)        (i)         The  equipment is a suction-fed spray gun.                                                                                         
(ii)        It is used for spraying thinned cellulose  and enamel paints.  
(b)        (i)         L         -           Air cap/Air nozzle.
    M        -           Trigger.
    N         -           Air inlet.
    O         -           Spreader adjustment valve.                 
 (ii)        Air cap/Air nozzle:                  
    This is the part  of the gun which controls the flow of paint and air stream in and out of the gun.
Trigger:
This is the part of the gun which controls the flow of paint and air stream in and out of the gun.
Air inlet:
This is a tube  under the body of the gun through which the compressed air enters the gun from  the compressor.
Spreader adjustment valves:
This is the part of the gun which adjusts the spread of paint while in operation.
