Materials required
- Straw board/Plywood.
- Emulsion paint (off white).
- Gloss paint:
- black;
- red.
- Tracing paper.
- Turpentine.
- Masking tape.
- Pencil.
- Signwriting brush.
Observation
The candidate is responsible for preparing the working surface before the day of the examination. The candidate is also responsible for the provision of the materials required in carrying out the examination to specifications.
Working surface
A straw board/Plywood measuring 50cm x 75cm x 0.5cm thick to be coated with white emulsion paint before the day of the examination.
Examination
The work is to be completed in the presence of the supervisor. The examination consists of tracing the design and signwriting the word MANILLA with red gloss and design with black.
Accurate setting-out to the given specification will be rewarded. All dimensions are given to guide the candidates and should not be indicated in the finished product.
