In part (a)(ii) candidates could not describe the set position in a 400 m race.
In (c)(ii) candidates could not mention facilities needed in horizontal jumping events.
The expected answers were as follows:
(a)(ii) Description of the set position in a 400m races
- The athlete raises the hips than the shoulder level
- He moves the shoulders forward/rocks forward over the starting line
- Body weight is shifted unto the arms/fingers
- Both legs are bent at the knee
- Head in a natural alignment with the trunk
- Athlete remains motionless and ready to move.
(c)(ii) Facilities needed in horizontal jumping events in athletics:
- Runway
- Landing pit/area
- Take-off board
